Bloc Party, Mystery Jets give free music to ‘Twitter festival’

New charity project Twestival launched on micro blog site

Bloc Party, Mystery Jets, Erol Alkan and The Rakes are among the artists who have donated music to be streamed free online as part of a new charity project organised by Twestival, the global Twitter charity.

The acts have donated a song to be streamed online at Twestival.fm, with users invited to offer a donation to Charity: Water, which aims to bring clean and safe water to those in developing countries without it.

The songs are scheduled to be made available from today (February 5) until February 19.

Meanwhile, on February 12 various “Twestivals” are set to take place in cities across the globe, organised by volunteers to raise awareness about the project and for Twitter users to meet face-to-face.
