Bloc Party top the NME Chart

They beat My Chemical Romance to top spot

Bloc Party have topped the NME Chart with their new single ‘The Prayer’ tonight (January 7).

The track, which is taken from the band’s forthcoming album ’A Weekend In The City’, which is released on February 5.

The band beat off competition from My Chemical Romance, who are at Number Two with ’Famous Last Words’, and Fall Out Boy, who are at Number Seven with ’This Ain’t A Scene, It’s An Arms Race’.

Will Bloc Party manage to hold onto the top spot when Jarvis Cocker comes back with ’Don’t Let Him Waste Your Time’? Or will The Shins take the top spot with ’Phantom Limb’?
