Singer Kele Okereke is hit by coin
Bloc Party‘s Aberdeen gig was halted last night (February 18) after frontman Kele Okereke was hit by a coin.
At the gig at the Music Hall an audience member threw a coin at the singer two songs into the set, during ‘Positive Tension’, forcing the band to leave the stage.
After a short gap Bloc Party returned to finish the show.
A reports on local music scene forum Aberdeen-music.com said: “It was a pretty good gig in the end, but aside from a couple of songs they didn’t look they were having fun and the coin-throwing incident made the rest of the gig feel a bit awkward.”
A spokesperson for the band said Okereke was not seriously hurt.
As previously reported, the band have been added to the line up of the ’Live Earth’ concert on July 7.
The rest of the band’s current UK tour will call at:
Edinburgh Corn Exchange (February 20)
Newcastle Academy (21)
Sheffield Octagon (22)
