Blossoms share another track from their new album ‘Cool Like You’

Second LP is out later this month

Blossoms have shared another new track from their forthcoming album ‘Cool Like You’.

The track, ‘There’s A Reason Why (I Never Returned Your Calls)’ was debuted as Annie Mac’s Hottest Record on her BBC Radio 1 show. You can listen to the track below. ‘Cool Like You’ is set to be released on April 27.

It follows the previously released track ‘I Can’t Stand It’, which also premiered on Annie Mac’s show.

Frontman Tom Ogden previously explained that the track was written two years ago and that is was a “follow on” from the last album’s ‘Getaway’.

Discussing the pressure to replicate the success of their debut, he said: “There were points where I felt pressure, but in a productive way. There was a time when we were in Barcelona, and there was a a piano in the dressing room. I felt like it was staring me out like, ‘Come on, you need to write a tune.'”

He added that the band don’t feel like they’ve “made it”, despite what they achieved first time round. “Loads of people could have one good album,” he said. “Longevity’s where it lies. We’re all best mates and want to keep doing what we’re doing. We had a great time touring the world and doing what everyone in our positions would want to do, but there was always in the back of your mind keep writing songs, get in the studio, and be on the front foot with it.”

The tracklist for ‘Cool Like You’ is as follows:

The band also recently set up a helpline for fans “feeling confused” amid apparent tension within the group. There has been some speculation that the band could split following a heated Twitter exchange between frontman Tom Ogden and drummer Joe Donovan last month.
