The Britpop band gear up to headline Isle Of Wight festival and London's Hyde Park
Blur have announced a new UK live date.
The recently reunited Britpop band released their first album in 12 years last month, going straight to Number One in the UK. Now, they’ve confirmed details of an intimate show in Wolverhampton for next month.
Blur had already announced that they’ll play a trio of headline dates in Glasgow, Blackpool and Llandudno this summer. Before then, they will play at the 300-capacity Newhampton Arts Centre in Wolverhampton on June 6. Tickets go on sale at 12 noon today (May 15) here, with proceeds going to Newhampton Arts Centre and RML Ltd.
The gigs will act as warm-up for the band’s headline set at the Isle Of Wight festival in June. Blur will also headline British Summer Time in London’s Hyde Park on June 20.
Blur will play the following UK headline dates:
Wolverhampton Newhampton Arts Centre (June 6)
Glasgow Barrowlands (9)
Blackpool Empress Ballroom (10)
Llandudno Cymru Arena (11)
Meanwhile, Blur are set to launch their very own brand of ice cream, selling their ‘Magic Whip’ product at upcoming UK dates, as well as at selected Co-Operative stores, from June.
The product was created in conjunction with dairy specialist The Licktators and has been described as “a dairy vanilla custard ice cream rippled with raspberry sauce”. The company have previously released music-themed flavours such as Jiggy Pop (popcorn flavour) and John Lemon (Lemon curd). They also made headlines recently by producing breast milk ice cream to mark the birth of royal baby, Princess Charlotte.
