Here it is – that new Blur single ‘MUSIC IS MY RADAR’ in all its’ glory, right here, right now, first and exclusively on the net on nme.com!
As of 9.30am, you can hear ‘Music Is My Radar’ by clicking here – and find out for yourselves just what the boys have been up to as they work on their new album and gear up for the release of their ‘Best Of’ compilation.
As nme.com reported last night, the song, which will be included on the greatest hits collection, is released on October 16 and was only finished last week. Like the album, which is out on October 30, it will be released through Food/Parlophone.
Guitarist Graham Coxon, who has revealed that he hopes to go on a solo tour of the US when the next lull in the band’s schedule comes around, told nme.com at Reading Festival that the new album sounded “like a little train”. He explained: “We’ve been doing some stuff this past week and everyone’s fine. What’s the new material like? It’s like one of them little trains you get in zoos that all the kids get on. There’s something new popping along every now and again before you get time to be bored.”
Meanwhile, Damon Albarn has been showing off new musical interests recently, making his UK garage debut at Notting Hill Carnival in London, freestyling live alongside ragga MC Sweetie Irie. A collaboration with underground garage DJ Ed Cases has also been mooted, Damon‘s baby Missy being sampled by the DJ for inclusion on a future track, and Blur working in the studio in the same building that houses Cases‘ label Middlerow Records.
