Bob Dylan beats The Enemy to Number One

He gets his first UK Number One in 39 years

Bob Dylan has beaten The Enemy to the top of the UK album charts.

Dylan‘s new LP ‘Together Through Life’ – his 33rd – went straight in to the top of the charts, while The Enemy‘s second album ‘Music For The People’ reached Number Two.

‘Together Through Life’ is Dylan‘s first UK Number One album in nearly four decades, since ‘New Morning’ was released in 1970.

In the singles chart, Tinchy Stryder and N-Dubz‘ song ‘Number 1’ retains the top spot, managing to keep Samsung NME Radar Tour headliner La Roux at Number Two, with her single ‘In For The Kill’.

Calvin Harris‘ former Number One single ‘I’m Not Alone’ falls one place to Number Four in the chart, while the highest new entry of the week is a new version of ‘Tiny Dancer’ by Ironik, Chipmunk and Elton John, which is at Number Three.
