Bombay Bicycle Club: ‘We’re still a way away from having our own sound’

Bassist Ed Nash also reveals he's not keen on Lana Del Rey

Bombay Bicycle Club bassist Ed Nash has admitted that he still thinks his band are a few albums away from finding their “own sound”.

The band released their third album ‘A Different Kind Of Fix’ earlier this summer and despite its positive reception, Nash said he still believes his band are borrowing heavily from other acts.

He told Spinner about ‘A Different Kind Of Fix’: “This record is taking off of where we left off on our first record. I think we’re getting there, maybe with a couple more albums. We’re still a way away from having our own sound. We’re just probably borrowing from other people’s sounds, like a hybrid.”

Nash also revealed that he wasn’t too keen on Lana Del Rey, but does like her hit ‘Video Games’, which his band covered last month. He said: “I don’t really like Lana Del Rey, but that [‘Video Games’] is one of the best pop songs released in the past couple of years.”
