Bombay Bicycle Club finishing off new album with Arcade Fire mixer

Jack Steadman says the band have three tracks left to do

Bombay Bicycle Club are set to work with Animal Collective producer Ben Allen and Arcade Fire mixer Craig Silvey on their new album.

The band have already recorded five tracks with producer Jim Abiss, but frontman Jack Steadman told The Fly that they will complete sessions for the currently-untitled record in London with Allen.

He added that Silvey, who has worked with Arcade Fire in the past, will then mix the album.

“We’ve got three tracks left to do… I went to Atlanta to meet him [Allen] and we got on really well,” Steadman explained. “These tracks are definitely the most electronic and sample-based ones, so we thought he’d be perfect.”

Steadman said they’d enlisted Silvey to mix the album because “we were worried about having two producers [mixing one record].”

Although a release date for the album is yet to be confirmed, it is expected to come out around September time.

It will be their first album since their 2010 acoustic effort ‘Flaws’.
