'The Voice' judge made the remarks during a recording of the show
A recent comment made by Boy George during the recording of TV show The Voice has been dismissed by representatives of the programme.
The former Culture Club singer currently serves as a judge on the UK edition of the show, with reports recently suggesting that he claimed he had slept with Prince in front of a live audience.
Reports stated that the comment came after fellow judge Paloma Faith mentioned previously collaborating with Prince, with Boy George describing the remark as a “joke”.
“He just went, ‘Oh darling, I’ve slept with him,'” a spokesperson told People. “He went on to say that he had Prince posters on his wall as a kid. He was never being serious.”
The representatives also said the “whole drama of the show coming to a halt didn’t happen at all,” as reports had suggested.
Boy George and Paloma Faith replaced departed coaches Rita Ora and Tom Jones for the 2015 series of the BBC show.
Ricky Wilson of Kaiser Chiefs and Will.i.am returned to the panel alongside the new additions.
