The pop legend is forced to shell out...

Boy George will pay £10,000 damages to an employee of a LONDON nightclub.

Boy George, real name George O’Dowd, had previously said that employee, Andrew Thompson, had deserved to be hit.

O’Dowd punched Thompson in a night-club in 2000, after the star claimed he had been insulted.

O’Dowd went on to say in interviews in 2002 with Boyz and the Sunday Express that Thompson was to blame for his own assault.

Thompson’s solicitor, Hanna Basha, explained that O’Dowd had refused Thompson’s request to withdraw the allegations, and to apologise.

However, Basha told Justice Tugendhat today (February 26) that O’Dowd had “accepted that he should not have assaulted the claimant [Mr Thompson] and paid him substantial compensation for the injury and distress caused”.
