Bring Me The Horizon donate merch sales towards The Ghost Inside’s medical costs following bus crash

After throwing in $10,000, the rockers are also encouraging fans to help out their former tour mates

Bring Me The Horizon have donated $10,000 in merchandise sales from their current tour towards the medical expenses of former tour mates The Ghost Inside, after the LA band were involved in a serious car accident in which both drivers involved passed away.

Brighton band Architects have also donated $1,000 to the campaign.

Announcing the donation through their Facebook page, Bring Me The Horizon also posted a link to a GoFundMe campaign, which increased its fundraising target to $60,000 on Friday evening (November 20). At the time of writing, the campaign had already surpassed its initial $40,000 target by several thousand dollars.

The fundraising page states:

“I initially started this campaign as an effort to raise money for my friend Chris [Davis, guitarist with The Ghost Inside] and the rest of the band who were injured on the tour bus.”

“Multiple members of the band and crew suffered serious injuries during the ordeal. Two members of the band had to be airlifted which is extremely expensive. Equipment was also lost in addition to expensive medical bills incurred. This is extremely costly for the band.”

The post continues:

“I will be transferring the funds directly to The Ghost Inside’s management who I have been in contact with directly to use the funds to help cover medical bills, funeral expenses, and loss of equipment and associated fees.”

“Any amount of money you can contribute to this fund is greatly appreciated. It is extremely difficult for a band to cover expenses from a tragic event such as this one.”

“The reality is that multiple band members had to be air lifted to the hospital, and there is a family that lost a loved one. Now that we have reached the $40,000 goal – I have decided to increase the target to $60,000 to continue to aid the band.”

The accident took place as The Ghost Inside travelled between American tour dates, travelling overnight between Texas and Phoenix on the evening of November 18.

The band informed fans of the accident via their Facebook, as follows:

“The Ghost Inside was involved in a serious bus accident outside El Paso, TX this morning. All 5 band members and all members of the crew are alive and currently being treated for their injuries. Please keep them in your thoughts as well as their bus driver and those in the other vehicle who did not make it. Unfortunately, all US shows on the Locals Only Tour are cancelled. Refunds available at point of purchase. We will update you more when we can.”
