Coldplay and Duffy lead BRIT Awards nominations

The nominations for the 2009 BRIT Awards have been announced, with Coldplay and Duffy getting four nominations each.

Both are nominated for British Album and British Single, and Coldplay have been nominated for British Group and British Live Act. Duffy’s remaining two nominations are for British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act.

Elbow’s ‘The Seldom Seen Kid’, Radiohead‘s ‘In Rainbows’ and The Ting Tings‘We Started Nothing’ are all up for British Album, and this year’s Outstanding Contribution Award will go to Pet Shop Boys.

The BRIT Awards 2009 ceremony will take place February 18 at Earls Court in London, and will be presented by Kylie Minogue, James Corden and Mathew Home.

Florence And The Machine have already been announced as the winner of the Critics Choice Award, beating Little Boots and White Lies.
