BRIT Award 2009 nominations revealed today (January 20)

The nominations for the BRIT Awards 2009 are set to be announced this evening (January 20).

The announcement will take place at the London Roundhouse – and NME.COM will bring you news of the nominations as soon as they are announced.

Categories for which the nominations will be revealed include Best Male Solo Artist, Best Female Solo Artist, Best British Group and Best British Breakthrough Act.

Kings Of Leon, Girls Aloud and Duffy are set to perform at the BRIT Awards ceremony, set to take place on February 18 at London Earls Court. Kylie Minogue will host the bash alongside former Shockwaves NME Awards hosts James Corden and Matthew Horne.

Pet Shop Boys are set to receive the Lifetime Achievement award, while Florence And The Machine have been named Critic’s Choice for this year’s honours.

The nominations ceremony will be broadcast on ITV2 from 8pm (GMT).
