Lily Allen dons ginger wig to win British Female Solo Artist at Brit Awards 2010

Allen picks up her first award at the yearly event

Lily Allen won her first ever Brit Award tonight (February 16), picking up the British Female Solo Artist gong at the ceremony.

The award, which was voted for by the Brit Academy, was presented at the event at Earls Court in London.

Wearing a ginger wig, the singer giggled her way through her speech, admitting: “I only wore this orange wig cos I thought It would make it harder for the cameramen to find me when I didn’t win and made my sad face.”

Host Peter Kay interrupted her halfway through her speech by sounding an air horn, to which Allen jokingly declared, “Fuck him! I’m not leaving”, before concluding her thank yous.

Florence And The Machine
Leona Lewis
Lily Allen
Pixie Lott
