Jury selected in Britney Spears’ driving trial

But the pop star is a no-show

A jury has been selected in Britney Spears‘ trial for driving without a license.

The pop star was not in attendance at the Los Angeles courtroom today (October 16) when the jury was selected.

The selected jurors were mostly female and included a schoolteacher and people from the banking, insurance and health care industries, reports the Associated Press.

A handful of prospective jurors were dismissed after they expressed strong feelings against Spears and the paparazzi.

The midemeanour charges against Spears stem from an incident in 2007 in which she hit a parked car and left without notifying the owner. She was originally cited for hit-and-run and driving without a license, but the hit-and-run charges were dropped.
