Singer makes comeback with five-song set
Britney Spears performed a secret gig last night (May 1).
As previously reported it was announced that Spears would perform under the name ‘The M+M’s’ at the House Of Blues club in San Diego.
Despite false suggestions the gig had been cancelled at the last minute, Spears appeared, opening with her 1999 breakthrough Number One single ’…Baby One More Time’.
Dressed in a pink top, white skirt and brown wig, Spears was flanked by a couple of backing dancers.
She only spoke to the audience once, saying: “Thanks everyone for coming.”
Fans had paid an upwards of $125 a ticket, reports Yahoo News.
The club appearance marked Britney’s first live appearance for three years, after a tumultuous year which has included a high-profile divorce, the infamous head-shaving incident and high-profile partying with celebrity friends.
In January, Spears wrote on her website: “I look forward to coming back this year bigger and better than ever.”
The star is currently working on her fifth album.
