The single will be released alongside a 'really cool concept' video

Britney Spears has revealed that her next single will be ‘Criminal’.

The fourth track to be taken from this year’s ‘Femme Fatale’ album will be accompanied by a “really cool concept” video.

Speaking to MTV at the MTV VMAs, she broke the news of her new single, saying: “I don’t know if I’m at liberty to tell. But I will anyways – it’s ‘Criminal’.”

She added: “Actually the song, when I first heard it, [I thought] ‘It’s really different and [there’s] not anything I’ve heard like this before’. So I really wanted to deliver this song.”

She was tight lipped on the video though, simply saying: “I was thinking of a really cool concept for the video just to make it interesting. You’ll have to see.”

Britney Spears won two awards at the MTV VMAs on August 28. Lady Gaga was dressed as her male alter ego Jo Calderone to present Spears with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award for her contribution to music.

Britney SpearsFemme Fatale tour hits the UK on October 25 with a show at Belfast Odyssey Arena. She plays London O2 Arena on October 27 and 28, following it with shows in Birmingham, Sheffield, Newcastle and a further show in London.
