The Sheffield outfit take part in a live, er, broadcast for Radio One celebrations...
A BROADCAST hometown gig will be transmitted live from Birmingham’s Irish Centre by BBC Radio One on May 24.
The band will be joined by Warp records labelmates Plone for a gig that is part of the BBC Music Live programme of events. Music Live is a series of live shows that are being hosted by the corporation throughout May, featuring both amateur and professional bands and musicians, as part of their Millennium celebrations.
The Broadcast/Plone show will be hosted by John Peel whose show will come from the venue on the night.
Meanwhile, Broadcast play a warm up show for the gig at London’s Scala on May 22. The Scala gig coincides with ‘Come On Let’s Go’, the second single to be lifted from their acclaimed debut album ‘The Noise Made By People’, released on the same day.
‘Come On Let’s Go’, taken from their critically acclaimed debut album proper ‘The Noise MAde By People’, will include three previously unreleased Broadcast tracks. ‘Distant Call’ will be on the flipside of the 7′ single, while ‘Locusts’ and ‘Chord Simple’ will be bonus tracks on the CD format.
