The former Distillers frontwoman gets pelted with blood, money and glass bottles in the promo
Brody Dalle has unveiled the video for ‘Don’t Mess With Me’.
The video for the track taken from her debut solo album ‘Diploid Love’ sees the frontwoman pelted with bottles of pills, dollar bills, roses, glass bottles and covered in fake blood whilst playing guitar and singing in front of an oversized bullseye target. Click above to watch.
‘Diploid Love’ is Dalle’s first album under her own name, following her 2009 album as Spinnerette and three albums as the frontwoman of punk band The Distillers: 2000’s ‘The Distillers’, ‘Sing Sing Death House’ in 2002, and ‘Coral Fang’ in 2003.
‘Diploid Love’ was produced by Dalle and Alain Johannes (Arctic Monkeys, Them Crooked Vultures, Mark Lanegan) at his Los Angeles studio, as well as at Dalle and her husband Josh Homme’s Pink Duck studio. The record features guest appearances from Garbage‘s Shirley Manson, The Strokes‘ Nick Valensi, Michael Shuman of Queens of the Stone Age and Emily Kokal of Warpaint among others.
