Jennifer Hudson to sing at Super Bowl after family’s shooting

It's her first performance following tragedy

Jennifer Hudson is set to perform the US national anthem at the Super Bowl next month.

This will be the singer/actress’ first public performance since several members of her family were murdered in October. Her estranged brother-in-law, William Balfour, has been charged with the murders, as previously reported.

Hudson will join Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band performing at what is usually the most-watched television broadcast in the US. Springsteen nabbed the highly sought-after half-time slot.

The event will take place in Tampa Bay, Florida on February 1.
