Frontman says he is putting together a new Slipknot and Pantera-inspired band

Bullet For My Valentine frontman Matt Tuck has revealed he is putting together a new side project, which he has described as “metal as fuck”.

The Welsh metallers have spent the last two years touring in support of their third album ‘Fever’ and only have a short South American trek remaining on their tour schedule. They had indicated that they were preparing to begin work on their fourth album, but Tuck has now seemed to suggest that his new project will take priority for now.

He told Californian radio station 107.7 The Bone that his new band would contain four members and would be recording their debut album over the next few months. He also revealed the band already have demos recorded and have chosen a name.

Asked what the project would sound like, Tuck said it will sound less melodic and more brutally heavy. He described it as “stepping out of his comfort zone”.

Tuck said of the project:

It’s far more like Slipknot or Pantera. It’s metal as fuck, it’s stepping away from the melodic, not giving a fuck. Because obviously Bullet For My Valentine is a business and we have our formula, and what we do works so we won’t stray from that.

He continued:

It’s nice to step out of that comfort zone and do something fucking ridiculous and not worry about what people are going to think, because it doesn’t exist yet. We wanted to go in there with kind of like a Slipknot attitude of just everything. Like the ‘Iowa’ album — just fucking violent. Let it all out. No holds barred.

Tuck also said that his bandmates and management were well aware of the situation and were planning accordingly.
