The metal band will take pendants containing the ashes of two fans on tour with them
Welsh metal band Bullet For My Valentine are taking the ashes of two of their fans on tour.
The group, who release new album ‘Venom’ in August, will tour North America with Slipknot and Lamb Of God during the summer. Reports state that the ashes of James Simmons, 18, and Corran ‘Coz’ Powell, 21, will be kept in specially crafted items of jewellery and worn by members of the band during their live shows.

Simmons and Powell both passed away following a car crash in Gosfield, Essex during December 2014. The mother of Corran Powell, Gennie Powell said of the news: “It’s amazing this is happening, I really can’t describe how I feel about it – it’s a lovely gesture.” James Simmons’ father, Mike Simmons, added: “Music really was Coz and James’s life. James was a big fan of Bullet For My Valentine, Slipknot and My Chemical Romance.”
Mrs Powell also revealed that her son will be kept in a piece of jewellery shaped like a cog from the video game ‘Gears Of War’. “Coz was a hardcore gamer and he had a very impressive score,” she told The Mirror.
Meanwhile, Bullet For My Valentine recently recruited a new bassist in Jamie Mathias. Speaking about new album ‘Venom’, frontman Matt Tuck said: “It’s easily the most aggressive record we’ve ever done and lyrically it will no doubt touch a nerve with a lot of people that listen to it. I cannot express enough how proud I am of it, and can’t wait for everyone out there to hear it too. We’ve reinvented who we are and are ready to take on the world once more.”
The band will follow their North American tour with UK and Ireland live shows during September and October. See those dates in full below.
