Busta Rhymes rejects offer in assault case

The rapper considers plea deal instead

Busta Rhymes has rejected an offer from a New York prosecutor to settle the lawsuit against him by spending six months in jail.

He is instead considering a deal from the judge that would allow him to plead guilty to misdemeanor assault and remain free, according to Billboard.

As previously reported, the rapper turned himself into a police station in New York earlier this year after a man claimed the star had beat him up. He was released on bail a few days later.

Rhymes is also involved in another case in which he was charged with assaulting a fan who allegedly spat on his car. The offer of six months in jail would have covered both assaults charges.
