US rapper joins Outkast, Foals and Beck on Isle of Wight event bill
Busta Rhymes will make his UK festival debut at Bestival later this year.
The rapper joins the list of acts playing the festival alongside Disclosure and Major Lazer plus London Grammar , Sam Smith, Wild Beasts, Clean Bandit, Caribou, Chvrches and Mercury Prize nominee Laura Mvula.
Speaking about securing Busta Rhymes, Bestival organiser Rob da Bank says: “Woo hah people! Yes it’s true, Busta Rhymes has got you all in check and he’s coming to Bestival for his first ever UK festival appearance! I’m such a Busta fan and it’s amazing not just to see him back in the charts with another banger with ‘Thank You’ but also to know he’s getting on the ferry and bringing it to Bestival!”
Earlier this year Bestival announced its fancy dress plans for 2014. This year the Isle of Wight event will stage a tropical ‘Desert Island Disco’ theme, following 2013’s nautical ‘HMS Bestival’ theme. For more information, visit Bestival.net.
Bestival will be one of 40 festivals OutKast will play this summer around the world. Earlier this year, the duo revealed that they would be making their live comeback headlining Coachella Festival in California alongside Muse and Arcade Fire in April.
They subsequently announced an appearance at Wireless Festival, which takes place in London and Birmingham and will see headline performances from Kanye West, Drake and Bruno Mars.
