Paris Hilton claims to be one of the Top Five DJs in the world

The heiress has been DJing at Ibiza club Amnesia this year

Hotel chain heiress and former reality TV star Paris Hilton has claimed to be “one of the Top Five [DJs] in the world”.

The 32-year-old, who also had a fledgling pop career in 2006 with an eponymous solo album, began DJing in 2012 with a none-too-successful set at the Pop Music Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil. During her debut outing the singer was reported to be mainly dancing, rather than actually DJing or mixing any of the tracks.

Despite this, however, Hilton has continued to DJ – primarily with a residency at Ibiza nightclub Amnesia this summer – and now claims to be one highest earners in the world. In a recent interview with TMZ, the heiress is quizzed about the financially “lucrative” nature of DJing, to which she responds “I love it… I’m one of the top five in the world”. Hilton also goes on to clarify that she will go back for a second season in Ibiza next summer, and will play in Las Vegas this New Year’s Eve.

A recent list by Forbes, meanwhile, disputes Hilton’s financial claim. According to its figures in August, Calvin Harris is currently the world’s highest paid DJ, earning £29 million in the last year, with Tiesto, David Guetta, Swedish House Mafia and Deadmau5 following behind.
