Always first to spot a new trend, the Welsh band want a man with a Pat Sharp mullet in their new video. It's like Billy Ray Cyrus never happened...
CATATONIA want the man who pelted an egg at DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER JOHN PRESCOTT to star in their next video, NME.COM can reveal.
Farmhand Craig Evans, 29, who made headlines after he was punched by the Labour politician, has been approached by video production company Godman to appear in the video for Catatonia‘s forthcoming new single, ‘Stone By Stone’.
Video producer Juliette Larthe said: “He could become an anti-establishment hero – with the same cult status as the eco-warrior Swampy.
“It’s something we are interested in at the moment.”
Evans is said to be “weighing up” the offer. Nobody from the Catatonia camp were available for comment yesterday (May 20).
Evans has been released on police bail until mid-June after the so-called ‘Rumble in Rhyl’ last week. Mr Prescott has been interviewed by police in connection with the brawl with the farming and fox-hunting protester.
North Wales police officers travelled to Hull to interview him, following Wednesday’s (May 16) confrontation outside a Labour rally, and Mr Prescott voluntarily attended an interview at Queens Gardens Police Station in Hull.
Mr Prescott has since said the incident was “regrettable” and has received the backing of Prime Minister Tony Blair.
