Chaka Khan performs ‘It’s Raining Men’ on ‘Letterman’ – watch

Khan backed by the song's co-writer Paul Shaffer

Chaka Khan stopped by Late Show with David Letterman on Tuesday (April 22) to perform a cover of the hit song ‘It’s Raining Men’. Click above to watch.

The track, written in 1979 was originally performed by The Weather Girls in 1982, but as pointed out by Letterman, was actually co-written by the show’s band leader and music director Paul Shaffer, alongside Paul Jabara.

The 62-year-old Khan is currently plotting a new album to be released this autumn.

Letterman, meanwhile, will end his tenure on the long-running late night chat programme on May 20. He is set to be succeeded by Stephen Colbert, who will debut on Late Show this September.
