Frank Ocean, Andre 3000 and J Cole will appear on Chance the Rapper’s forthcoming debut album.
The artist revealed the news to GQ during an interview about his follow up to 2013’s mixtape ‘Acid Rap’.
He also spoke about his work with his band The Social Experiment, whose new collaborative album with Donnie Trumpet, called ‘Surf’, is due for release sometime soon. “It’s a big step for all of us all putting our heads together and letting Nico [Segal, a.k.a Donnie Trumpet] hold the reigns and carry it,” the rapper previously said of ‘Surf’. “There’s a lot of great instrumentation. A lot of input from cool writers.”
Speaking about the collaborators he has worked with recently, though not stating that they are necessarily involved with ‘Surf’, Chance continued: “We worked with Migos. We worked with J. Cole. We did some work with Emily King just last week. Somebody who helped us out a lot with just getting into the project was Rick Rubin. And Frank Ocean. There’s been a lot of just people in the studio watching us work almost like a house band. People come in just to watch us jam out.”
Earlier this week, The Social Experiment unveiled a teaser video for a song called ‘Nothing Came To Me’. The clip was directed by Jake Schreier and stars model Cara Delevingne. “This is scoring. It’s called Silent Film. You have to rely on music and expression acting. Nothing Came To Me,” Chance tweeted about the clip, which you can watch below.
