The follow-up to 2017's 'Number 1 Angel'
Charli XCX has teased the release of a new star-studded mixtape.
The singer last released an album in 2014 with ‘Sucker’, following it with her ‘Vroom Vroom’ EP last year and her ‘Number 1 Angel’ mixtape this past March. That latter release featured guest spots from Uffie, MØ and more.
Now, Charli has taken to Twitter to hint that she has another mixtape in the works. “Imagine if I did another mixtape,” she wrote before listing a host of names of artists that could appear on it.
Charli named the likes of Carly Rae Jepsen, MØ, Tove Lo, Mykki Blanco, Brooke Candy, Caroline Polachek, Cupcakke, Pabllo Vittar, Alma, Jay Park, Kim Petras, Dorian Electra, Tommy Cash and PC Music producer AG Cook.
“That would be pretty cool right?” she then asked fans. See her tweet in full below.
Speaking at the NME Awards earlier this year, Charli said that her ‘Number 1 Angel’ mixtape was “essentially” an album.
“It’s just songs that me and AG Cook made in two weeks in LA when I was, like, feeling really depressed,” she explained. “It’s 10 whole new songs basically. It’s [being called] a mixtape so it can go out for free, but it’s essentially an album, a whole new album.”
Charli went on to say that she had “space to do stuff like the mixtape,” adding: “While the label stress about all of that [other] shit, I can just be in the studio, which I like.”
