Annie Clark is in the midst of a huge US tour at the moment – scheduled to play at Hollywood Palladium tomorrow night (January 25). She’s on the road in support of her latest record ‘Masseduction’ – read the NME review here.
During some backstage downtime this week, the ‘Los Ageless’ musician picked up her acoustic to take on Sleater-Kinney’s ‘Modern Girl’. The track was originally released in 2005 and features on their album ‘The Woods’.
“Pre-show Sleater-Kinney warm up,” Clark captioned the clip. “Such a great song!”
Last year saw St Vincent collaborate with Sleater-Kinney’s Carrie Brownstein in a series of comedy clips that featured Clark fielding common interview questions.
The promo shorts for ‘Masseduction’ were scripted by Brownstein and featured questions like “What is it like to perform in high heels?” and “Are St Vincent and Annie Clark the same person?”.
St Vincent is set to bring her divisive, stripped-back new live show to the UK once again in 2018. Clark will join Nick Cave, Patti Smith and Courtney Barnett at All Points East on June 3. The Victoria Park event will see Nick Cave perform as a UK festival exclusive.
