Pair agree to work together after chance meeting in a recording studio
Nile Rodgers has confirmed that he is working with producer Giorgio Moroder on new material.
The pair both appeared on Daft Punk‘s ‘Random Access Memories’, released earlier this year, and have got together once more after finding themselves in the same recording studio. Speaking to Rinse FM DJ Carly Wilford on Twitter recently, Rodgers let the secret slip and indadvertedly shared the news with the world.
@CarlyWilford I’m thankful for the music I’ve been able to have in my life. Giorgio Moroder’s next door & agreed to write something w me!

Rodgers recently revealed the story behind how he nearly lost his legendary Hitmaker guitar earlier this year. The funk icon played his white 1959 Fender Stratocaster, known as The Hitmaker, on some of the biggest-selling albums of all time by artists from David Bowie to Madonna and Diana Ross. The total value of music to have been played through the instrument was once valued at $2 billion (£1.3 billion).
As well as Moroder, Rodgers also recently announced that he was working with UK dance duo Disclosure.
Meanwhile, Giorgio Moroder will take part in London’s forthcoming electronic music festival LEAF. The producer has recently taken up DJing and will hold at the festival this November. Other artists performing at venues around the city as part of LEAF include William Orbit, Major Lazer and Trentemoller.
