Welsh choir cover Chic’s ‘Good Times’ for Festival No 6 – watch

The Brythoniaid Male Voice Choir re-imagine classic track to promote forthcoming Welsh bash

Chic’s classic hit single ‘Good Times’ has been performed by The Brythoniaid Male Voice Choir to promote the forthcoming Festival No 6.

Sixty members of the choir, formed in 1964 in Blaenau Ffestiniog, squeezed in to the studio to record their interpretation of the disco classic, then filmed a video for it at the location of the bash in Portmeirion. You can watch the clip below.

Last year they performed their own take of headliners New Order‘s ‘Blue Monday’ for the festival, which went viral. You can also watch a clip of that performance below.

This year’s event will be headlined by James Blake, My Bloody Valentine, Manic Street Preachers. Other bands on the bill of the Welsh festival, which takes place in North West Wales from September 13-15, include Chic, Johnny Marr, Jagwar Ma, Neon Neon, These New Puritans, Badly Drawn Boy and Public Service Broadcasting.

The bash takes its name from the lead character of ’60s TV series The Prisoner, which was filmed in the village from 1967 to 1968. Last year’s Festival No 6 was headlined by Primal Scream, New Order and Spiritualized.
