Chris Brown says ‘sorry for being a dog’ in Instagram apology

'My actions contributed a lot to my karma,' singer claims

Chris Brown has apologised for his “mistakes” in a confessional Instagram post.

Brown made the headlines in 2009 after assaulting then-girlfriend Rihanna. He apologised yesterday (May 28) for “being a dog sometimes” in a long caption to an Instagram post that shows him lounging near a beach with his feet up.

Brown, who continues to receive plaudits at A-list awards ceremonies despite his history of violent abuse, claimed that “my actions contributed a lot to my karma”, admitting that there had been “times where I looked in the mirror and hated the person I see”. He added: “I talk to God a lot now.”

I'm Konfuzed, I always thought I knew the concept of love. Fame and Money can get in the way of that. Most of my issues always deal with love and me being in my feelings. Not to mention me being a dog sometimes. I can't speak for everyone but I can say that my actions contributed a lot to my karma. Being jealous and angry and controlling. There has been times where I looked in the mirror and hated the person I see. I talk to God a lot now. He's given me so much and I feel like I waste his gifts becuz of my impulsive personality. The world is full of negativity and I feel I play a part in it becuz of the choices I've made or mistakes. I tend to accept the negative or the riff raff becuz I know what it's like to be a young black "nigga" in America. I always see the good in people even when they don't see it. I love others more than myself at times. Everything u see on the surface does not reflect what's inside. This is my white flag. I surrender to life and all its blessings. I refuse to be petty and attention seeking. To know me is to love me. Good Bad UGLY! Sincerely, Konfuzed

Earlier this month (May 9), a woman was arrested and charged with breaking into Brown’s Los Angeles home.

Brown discovered 21-year-old Amira Kodcia Ayeb in his house on May 6 and posted a picture of her, since deleted, on Instagram. Brown described the scene he found, saying a “crazy individual” had broken in, “broken the hinges off the doors” and left “voodoo things around my crib.”

The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has since confirmed that Ayeb has been charged with breaking into his home, stalking and vandalism. A police report states that she had been in the house for four days, having got into the property on May 2 while Brown was away. Brown’s cars were also damaged.

If convicted, Ayeb faces more than seven years in state prison.
