Frank Ocean’s cousin attempts to sue Chris Brown for £1.8 million over fight

The lawsuit relates to an altercation outside a recording studio

Frank Ocean‘s cousin Sha’keir Duarte is attempting to claim £1.8 million ($3 million) in damages from Chris Brown after a fight outside a recording studio.

According to new legal documents seen by TMZ, the court battle relating to brawl, which took place in January outside a West Hollywood recording studio, continues.

As previously reported, though Ocean insisted he would not press charges, Duarte sued Brown in August for assault and battery after claiming he was punched and kicked by a member of Brown’s entourage during the fight.

Last month (November), Brown then countersued saying the £1.2 million ($2 million) Duarte sought in damages was “absurd” and accused Duarte of instigating the fight by pushing, kicking and punching him and threatening to kill him. No criminal charges were filed over the fight.

Now Duarte has detailed why he believes Brown is responsible for over £1.8 million ($3 million) in damages, which is broken down into £600,000 ($1 million) for pain, suffering and inconvenience; £600,000 ($1 million) for emotional distress; £600,000 ($1 million) for punitive damages and £37,000 ($60,000 for medical expenses).

The case continues.
