Chris Cornell begins work on new album

No further details have been revealed

Chris Cornell has announced that work on a new studio album has begun.

The former Soundgarden and Audioslave frontman revealed the news via Twitter but stated no further details. Cornell’s last studio LP, “Scream”, was released in 2009.

“Day 1 of recording a new solo album and as it happens, learning that I share a name with an alleged jihadist,” posted the singer, referring to 20-year-old Ohio man Christopher Lee Cornell who was arrested on Wednesday (January 14) for allegedly plotting to attack the US Capitol building.

Cornell was in the news last year after a woman was charged with allegedly tweeting him over 100 abusive and violent messages from nine different Twitter accounts. Another woman, Jessica Leigh Robbins, was later arrested for sending death threats to the 50-year-old and his family.#
