The track, ‘Slim Shady Please Shut Up’ has been available on the Internet for a number of weeks. As previously reported on nme.com, the track berates Eminem, questioning his talent and attitude. It was originally thought to have been recorded by Aguilera herself, but Emily Ellis, who recorded it for a US radio station, stood up and admitted she was behind the rip-off. She said she hoped to release it as a single and added: “Who knows, Christina might think it’s funny, or she might want to do it herself.”
The song is a direct response to the Eminem single ‘The Real Slim Shady’ in which he implies that Aguilera has performed oral sex on Carson Daly and Limp Bizkit‘s Fred Durst.
On the new version ‘Christina’ responds: “They both came closer than you ever will, jerk.”
Now, speaking about the track, she told the US website www.mtv.com: “I heard the song. It’s just hilarious. It’s so funny. The girl is so white, it’s not even funny. I don’t know who out there did this, but it’s funny and obviously it’s in support of me. It’s very cute, and I appreciate that.”
