Christine & The Queens teases new song ‘Girlfriend’ – coming tonight

Get ready for a 'sweaty' new sound

Christine And The Queens has shared s teaser clip of her new single ‘Girlfriend’ – which is due for release today. Check it out below.

Posting the clip on Twitter with a striking new photo showing the singer’s short hair look, the song appears to adopt more of a Chic-esque shimmering disco sound. Héloïse Letissier also confirmed that the track will be both in French and English.

The singer has also been sharing artwork for the song, and what many believe to be lyrics across Twitter:

Speaking of LP 2’s theme last year, Letissier told NME that the follow-up to ‘Chaleur Humaine’ will be “sweaty, more sexual and tougher”.

“I’ve been writing since it was out, so I do have many songs now and I have to choose,” she said. “It’s not really difficult though, because I know where I want to make Christine go. I know where she’s going to be, who she’s going to be, who she’s going to be in love with and what she will be angry for.”

The singer continued: “I can’t really tell much, because then that would spoil the fun –  but it will definitely be more sweaty and tougher. Maybe more high-tempo, but still really sad because I’m just me and I’m just sad deep down, but I’ll be properly able to dance on it all the time.”

Meanwhile, Christine & The Queens recently added more UK and world dates to her upcoming October tour. For tickets and more information, visit here.
