'Get Away', 'Follow You' and 'Bow Down' feature as 'Every Open Eye' album extras
Chvrches ‘Every Open Eye’ Spotify launch today also features three bonus tracks, entitled ‘Get Away’, ‘Follow You’ and ‘Bow Down’, all of which are taken from the special/ deluxe version of album.
The three tracks are tacked onto the end of the standard release, and hadn’t featured in the preview streams of the album before today’s version.
The Scottish trio’s second album, released by Glassnote, has been streaming minus the tracks since Monday. As part of its build up this week, the band covered Justin Bieber’s ‘What Do You Mean?’ in the Radio One Live Lounge and played NME’s free magazine launch show last week.
Frontwoman Lauren Mayberry has spoken further on sexism in the build up to ‘Every Open Eye’, telling NME:
“It’s not about winning – it’s about whether we choose to let ourselves be beaten. You see stories on the news about teenage girls who kill themselves because they were slut-shamed on the internet, then people turn around and say it’s not real, that we should just ignore it. Is this not what riot grrrl was talking about in 1992? That they could wear whatever they wanted, because it was about their expression and their lives?”
