The original version of the track appeared on Chvrches’ 2013 debut album ‘The Bones Of What You Believe’. Following the LP’s success, the Scottish band are currently plotting a second release.

Speaking to NME earlier this week, bandmember Martin Doherty discussed their plans for the album, including the trio’s desire to make it leaner than ‘The Bones Of What You Believe’.

“I think we’ll use fewer instruments but ultimately try and do more with them,” Doherty said. “When you listen to a Michael Jackson song or a Prince song, you realise there’s absolutely nothing in it but an amazing bassline, drums and singing. We want to channel some of that.”

Lead singer Lauren Mayberry, meanwhile, detailed the inspiration behind her lyrics, which she says “are based on personal experience, or at least a personal perspective on external events”.
