Listen to Chvrches’ “gnarly” new song ‘Never Say Die’

Band's new album 'Love Is Dead' is out in May

Chvrches have unveiled a new track called ‘Never Say Die’. Scroll below to listen.

The Glaswegian trio are preparing to release their third album ‘Love Is Dead’ on May 25.

Having already shared lead single ‘Get Out’ and its follow-up ‘My Enemy’, the latter featuring The National’s Matt Berninger, the group have now dropped this new song, one of the first they recorded with producer Greg Kurstin.

In a statement, singer Lauren Mayberry says it’s “one of my favourite songs on the record because it really leans into the juxtaposition of what we do—the mixture between the dark and the light” and describes the track as “melodic and direct but uses some of the gnarliest sounds we’ve ever tried.”

As well as releasing new music, Chvrches have also covered both Beyonce and The 1975 in recent weeks.

Singer Lauren Mayberry recently spoke out about the #MeToo movement – saying that she’s happy that progress has been made against misogyny, but now society needs to act upon the dialogue.

“It’s great that people are speaking up, but I want to see what happens in the next couple of years – if people actually put their money where their mouth is,” Mayberry told Pitchfork.

“So many people are being fully genuine about it, but there are some people who are definitely using it as a way of finding some kind of branding niche and that’s kind of fucked up.”
