Perry Farrell does Jane’s Addiction tunes electro-style at Coachella

I'm From Barcelona get the crowd to do the train

Perry Farrell performed electronic versions of songs by his own band, Jane’s Addiction at the Coachella Festival today (April 27), the final day of the 2008 desert festival.

Farrell, who was named NME‘s Godlike Genius along with his band Jane’s Addiction at the NME Awards USA ceremony in Los Angeles last week, gave a solo performance in the Sahara tent in the early afternoon. He was joined by a back-up singer and a backing track, as well as his own guitar.

The crowd ate up Farrell‘s solo renditions of ‘Just Because’, ‘Stop’ and the classic track ‘Jane Says’.

Shortly afterwards in the Mojave tent, I’m From Barcelona kicked off a massive dance-party set replete with red balloons and confetti.

“I’m a confetti junkie,” admitted ginger-haired frontman Emanuel Lundgren, who led the charge and stage dove into the crowd.

The audience got into the act as well, lining up to do the train in a circle around the tent.
