The Kiwi legends preview first new material in more than a decade

Crowded House reunited at Coachella tonight (April 29), previewing their first new material in more than a decade.

The Kiwi legends played to a massive crowd on the balmy desert evening, running through several old favourites including ‘Something So Strong’ and ‘World Where You Live’.

Frontman Neil Finn‘s microphone gave out on him during ‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’, but audience members filled in the missing vocals.

“Thanks for helping me out,” Finn said afterwards. “There could’ve been some serious collateral damage.”

The band were in high spirits throughout the set and seemed to genuinely enjoy themselves.

“I’m proud to share the stage with the likes of Willie Nelson, Manu Chao and Rage Against The Machine,” Finn said, referring to today’s other Coachella headliners.

However the much-rumoured guest appearance by Finn‘s brother, Tim Finn, never materialised.

The band played:

‘When You Come

‘World Where You Live

‘Don’t Dream It’s Over’

‘Don’t Stop Now’

‘Fall’

‘Silent House’

‘Private Universe’

‘People Are Like Suns’

‘Something So Strong’

‘Locked Out’

‘Better Be Home’
