The singer also revealed that he hopes pop star Rihanna will appear on the album. The pair first collaborated in 2011 on the ‘Mylo Xyloto’ single ‘Princess Of China.’

Asked if Rihanna will be on the next Coldplay album, Martin replied, “I hope so, yeah. I have a really nice song which… maybe, I hope so.”

In May, it was announced that the group’s song ‘Magic’ was the most-searched rock and indie song of 2014 on Shazam, a smartphone app that recognises what song is being played nearby before providing links to purchase the music from services such as iTunes.
