Coldplay fans have been giving their opinions on the band’s long awaited comeback single ‘Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall’, which you can hear by scrolling down and clicking at the bottom of the page.
The debate is underway at NME.COM/blogs now.
The track, which has been heavily inspired by Peter Allen‘s 1976 hit ‘I Go To Rio’, has scored a mixed reaction, with quite a few posts comparing the track to Mystic‘s 2007 single ‘Ritmo de la Noche’.
NME.COM user Andy Burns loved it, saying: “It’s a refreshing sound and it’s rather cool I must say.”
Ken Grand-Pierre was equally keen, he wrote: “Love it. Once it hits the 3 minute mark its fantastic. I’m excited to hear more.”
Jack Squibb also enjoyed it, writing: “It’s really good, looking forward to the album release now.”
Harry Atkinson hated the track though, writing: “It’s just bland, Coldplay stopped being interesting years ago.”
Will Begley also didn’t think much of it, writing: “2 years to write that shit? I think they’ve been listening to too much U2.”
