Coldplay announced to perform at ‘The X Factor’ final

But rumours that Adele will make an appearance prove unfounded

Coldplay have been confirmed to appear on The X Factor final next weekend.

Other acts confirmed on the bill are Michael Buble, Leona Lewis, JLS and One Direction.

Coldplay‘s frontman Chris Martin told The X Factor‘s official website Xfactoritv.com:

We’re all big X Factor fans so we’re very excited to play live on the show.

The performance will feature as part of a two-day final at Wembley Arena next Saturday (December 10) and Sunday (11). Adele was recently touted to appear at the event but organisers have now confirmed that she won’t be performing.

Meanwhile, Martin recently said he has no plans to go solo because he’d “be terrible” without his bandmates.

He added: “I don’t think I could even get a gig in Butlins – and I’ve been to Butlins. I think me and my keyboard would be outside Woolworths most days, getting shouted at.”

Coldplay will play a massive UK tour next summer, playing a total of seven shows at football stadiums, including three nights at Arsenal FC’s Emirates Stadium.

They will also play a short UK arena tour this month as well as a fundraising gig at London‘s O2 Arena to raise money for the children’s charity Kids Company.
