Coldplay emerge as bookies’ favourites to headline Glastonbury Festival 2016

Adele, Blur, Foo Fighters and Muse also tipped for next year's event

Coldplay are favourites to headline Glastonbury Festival 2016, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.

Glastonbury Festival 2016 will take place at Worthy Farm from June 22-26 next year, with tickets going on sale this weekend.

Bookies William Hill have given Chris Martin and co odds of 4/1 to headline the Pyramid Stage, having last headlined the event in 2011.

“Coldplay could make a welcome return to the Pyramid stage this year and that will no doubt cheer the masses as they wait and refresh their computers on Sunday morning in the race to bag some Glastonbury tickets,” says William Hill spokesman Joe Crilly.

Coldplay are expected to release an album shortly, having recently played a new song live.

Festival organiser Michael Eavis recently revealed that all the headliners have been booked for the next two instalments of the festival, with the Glastonbury boss stating that four of the six headliners have topped the bill before and two are completely new.
