Coldplay hint at Manchester and London stadium gigs with mysterious poster campaign

Band look set to play Wembley Stadium and the Etihad in June 2016

Coldplay appear to have announced that they will play stadium gigs in London and Manchester next summer.

Posters sporting artwork in the band’s trademark neon colours have appeared around London and Manchester this morning announcing gigs at Wembley Stadium on June 16 and 18 as well as a gig at Manchester’s Etihad Stadium on June 4.

The band, who release new album ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’ in December, have not yet officially announced any live plans. NME has contacted a representative for the band to confirm.

‘A Head Full Of Dreams’ will be released on December 4 via Parlophone/Atlantic and features unlikely guest cameos from Beyonce, Noel Gallagher and Tove Lo.

Frontman Chris Martin recently revealed how Guns N’ Roses-influenced ‘Adventure Of A Lifetime’.

Speaking about the track on SiriusXM, Martin said: “When we finished [the song], we were like, ‘OK, we are probably ready to come out again’. This is one of those songs that brings everything else together on a project. I’m not really on it that much – I sing a bit and play a bit of piano – but it’s really the rest of the band on form. It makes me happy to listen to it.”

Martin continued: “I’d been begging Jonny [Buckland] our guitarist for years to make a riff that I like as much as ‘Sweet Child O’ Mine’ by Guns N’ Roses, then he showed me that one, and I was like, ‘That’s it!’ So those elements all came together, and we just wanted to kind of embrace our love of joyful music and sort of let it free.”
