Fan-filmed clips from New York briefly show Chris Martin and co's latest
Coldplay – who are expected to release new album ‘A Head Full Of Dreams’ some time before Christmas – have been filmed performing a new song during the soundcheck for Global Citizen Festival in New York.
A brief fan clip shows Chris Martin testing the mic as he walks around the near-empty Central Park Great Lawn, whilst belting out a previously-unheard track, perhaps the first taste of the forthcoming seventh album.

Coldplay have committed long term to the free festival, promising to curate for the coming fifteen years. Beyonce, Pearl Jam and Ed Sheeran will also perform at the one-day event, which takes place later today (September 26).
Rumours of Coldplay’s latest release leaked in late August, through Rolling Stone, with the album expected to follow in surprisingly short order after the launch of May 2014’s Ghost Stories.
“It’s our seventh thing, and the way we look at it, it’s like the last Harry Potter book or something like that,” frontman Chris Martin said of the forthcoming album. “Not to say that there might not be another thing one day, but this is the completion of something… I have to think of it as the final thing we’re doing. Otherwise we wouldn’t put everything into it.”
Every Coldplay album to date has been a UK number one, with latest ‘Ghost Stories’ by a distance their lowest seller to date, but still surpassing 600,000 copies sold.
Back in July, Chris Martin played an impromptu gig in New Delhi, India, around the announcement of the festival.
