The Australian singer-songwriter will be touring the UK in May

Courtney Barnett has finished recording her debut album.

The Australian singer-songwriter has so far released two EPs, ‘I’ve Got A Friend Called Emily Ferris’ and ‘How To Carve A Carrot Into A Rose’, which were both re-released together last year as ‘The Double EP: A Sea Of Split Peas’.

Writing on Facebook yesterday, Barnett announced that she had finished work on her first full-length LP, posting a picture of her and her band, writing: “Last night at 2am this bunch of weirdos finished recording CB album #1”.

The singer-songwriter will tour the UK next month, starting her run of live shows in Newcastle at the Cluny 2 venue on May 6 before appearances in St Albans, Cambridge, Norwich, York, Hull, Sheffield, Birmingham and Leicester, winding up in Southampton on May 20.

Barnett and her band, The Courtney Barnetts, will also make appearances at Field Day, Liverpool Sound City, Live At Leeds and The Great Escape as well as Primavera in Spain and Portugal.
